approaches to leadership which allows them

to maximize their influence as leaders.

About our Speakers 

Janet Ward Black is the principal owner of the 40-plus person personal injury law firm, Ward Black Law which is one of the largest woman-owned law firms in NC located in Greensboro.  Janet Ward is a graduate of Davidson College and Duke Law School and is only the 2nd person in state history to serve as the President of the North Carolina Association of Trial Lawyers and President of the North Carolina Bar Association.  She excels as an entrepreneur and her firm has the distinct honor of being listed in "The Best Law Firms in America" by the U.S. World & News Report every year from 2011-17.  Janet Ward is an active community change agent and philanthropist who has a heart for her city and state serving in various capacities such as a Motivational Speaker for over 50 community, civic and youth organizations for over 30 years.  She will inspire and encourage you to make a significant difference right where you are in any stage of life...don't miss it!

To know KD Wilson is to know someone who will live bold, love hard and die empty.  It is his main message as a Success and Empowerment Coach and Writer and it takes very little time to recognize he is a man on a mission.  A NC A&T and Duke University graduate, KD speaks to audiences large and small from high schools to colleges, athletic teams, businesses and organizations, conferences and seminars as well as individual clients seeking to improve themselves.  He specializes in Character Development, Time Management Training and Will-Power Discovery among others.  For the last 7 years, KD has also served as a Greensboro Police Officer and was recently awarded Officer of the Year along with earning a Life Saving Medal among other awards.   You will be moved and motivated by KD's passion and pursuit for greatness...be there!  

​Maria-Elena Surprenant is an accomplished Dancer, Teacher, Choreographer and Entrepreneur successfully operating her own dance business, Surprenant Dance in Greensboro, NC.  With over 20 years of experience as a dancer, Maria-Elena has performed in various productions such as The Nutcracker, Wizard of Oz, Sleeping Beauty as well as dancing with the Charlotte City Ballet, the Charlotte Philharmonic Orchestra, NC School of the Arts Festivals, SERBA, Ballet Fest Atlanta and Carolina Voices among others.  She is also the choreographer for the annual Greensboro Christmas Spectacular at Lawndale Baptist Church.  Mrs. Surprenant received her BA in Dance from UNCG and earned her Masters in Entrepreneurship from Western Carolina University and is excitedly using her passion for leadership development and experience in serving as a Leadership Coach for The Office of Leadership and Service Learning at UNCG along with assisting at The Center for Creative Leadership.  Maria-Elena is a driven and dynamic person you'll surely enjoy hearing from...see you there!
